Here's the full story of when I met Johnny Depp April 17th 2004 :)
I'm posting this as a special message so that people don't miss it.
I wouldn't normally do that but I know there are a lot of members
who don't visit the site regularly but would love to read this :) If
you've seen it already or whatever then feel free to ignore it. Thanks & enjoy!

It was around 1pm. My stomach was churning. Driving up to the
studios we could see there were cars in the car park (if you could
call it that - it was more just a space on the grass) and I remember
we weren't sure what to do. Should we stop the car just past the
entrance & walk up the driveway, or drive as far up as possible? In
the end we went for the 2nd option. Amazingly there wasn't any
security on the gate so we went straight up nearer the buildings.
Two girls walked back to their car. Were they also Johnny Depp fans?
We asked one of them how far up we could go, and she pointed a
little further then said there was some security guy further up who
would speak to us. She was also looking for Johnny :>
We parked the car, grabbed our stuff & walked up the pathway. I
don't think I could've been more nervous. After all - we'd just
flown all the way to IOM & weren't even sure any more if our man was
still on the Island! One young-looking guy was standing nearby.
"Excuse me. Can you tell me if Johnny Depp is filming here please?"
I managed to get out. I wasn't looking forward to the answer.
He told us no one was there today; it was everyone's day off.
"Will he be here tomorrow?" At this point I didn't even want to here
the answer lol.
After trying again & again to get some information out of this guy
(all he'd give was yes/no answers & he didn't want to help), he
basically told us Johnny would be there the next day, and the next
also, but that security was very tight. Johnny's car would drive
through very quickly in blacked-out windows and there was no chance
of it stopping. Our hearts sank. We explained how far we'd travelled
and tried to get him to say something helpful. I realised this was
the same guy I'd spoken to a week or so before on the phone. He
hadn't given any information out then either, which is
understandable, but hey we were desperate!
He pointed to an older guy that was walking towards us & said that
this would be the person in charge of security tomorrow. Turns out
we shouldn't have got as far as we had that day because he was
supposed to be on the gate, but he'd left his spot. This new guy
(who we later found out was called `Warren') told us our best chance
would be to come back the next morning from 9am, around the time
Johnny would be arriving. Again we explained how far we'd travelled
etc in the hope of getting some more information somehow. Now we
didn't expect what was coming.. We'd basically expected this new guy
to tell us we weren't allowed to stay and had to leave the premises,
instead he said he couldn't help us with Johnny but as there was no-
one around he could give us a quick tour of the set!! I think we
practically started jumping up & down lolol and of course told him
we'd LOVE to see the set.
The four of us followed closely behind, grinning from ear to ear as
we entered through the doors & past the studio canteen. It was very
strange seeing it from the inside as a few weeks back they'd shown a
blurb about it on the BBC & even they weren't allowed past the door
leading to the set! No press people had even seen it and yet here we
were, just regular Johnny Depp fans, being given a quick tour!
The whole place was very small. We walked past some dummies, lots of
camera equipment etc. There wasn't a great deal of light inside so
we just kept following Warren. Next thing we knew we'd entered a
room. This was it - the set of The Libertine! Johnny had been in
this exact spot just one day earlier! We were understandably very
excited: I looked around trying to take everything in. There were
lots of blues, lilacs & gold and the detail on everything was just
unbelieveable..
"This is it. Here's your Johnny Depp film." Warren said.
OMG I'd never been on a set before! It was a theatre set - complete
with a throne in the centre of the stage area where he told us
Johnny's character (The Earl of Rochester) sits. He explained things
a little further but it was impossible to remember everything. He
went on to say how he'd read the script and that it was "unbelievable".
Warren had explained to us before that obviously photographs weren't
allowed, but still I couldn't help asking if we could "Just take one
photo?" He agreed :> but of course we took more than one lol. I had
2 cameras on me - a new digital one and a regular `normal' camera.
I can't make decisions at the best of times so I took a few on my
digital camera (though these actually ended up turning out worse
because I was rushing). The two I took afterwards on my regular
camera are better. He was very good and waited while we all took
photos. Then I heard some faint noises and he told us people were
coming so we had to move and put our cameras away. We walked out of
the set just as a few people walked nearby. Warren made out we were
extras that he was showing around:
"Yes, so this is where you'll be working next week.."
Haha Lisa said something like "I'm quite looking forward to it
actually" & we walked back outside.
Wow. None of us could believe what'd just happened. We all thanked
Warren for being so kind and asked again what time he thought would
be best for arriving the next day (Saturday). He also told us there
wouldn't be much chance of catching Johnny but went on to tell us we
could always jump in front of the car(!) It started to rain very
slightly so we decided to make a move. We had every intention of
doing just that the next day though - jumping in front of the car!
We agreed to try everything possible without getting ourselves
thrown out of the grounds lol.
We walked back to the car; still smiling after seeing The Libertine
set :> Getting in the car one girl came over. She was parked nearby
and asked us if we'd seen Johnny. We told her no and that he wasn't
there that day. None of us said anything about the set visit and we
just went on to say we would probably try again the next day. We
tried not to make it obvious Johnny would be there, but at the same
time we didn't give her the impression he wouldn't. Purely selfish
motives I know but none of us wanted a big crowd there if we could help it.
Next up we made a quick stop back at the B&B and then decided to see
if we could accidentally/on purpose bump in to Johnny at the Hilton
lol. Jo had read earlier in the week about some fans who had met him
in the lobby area there, so why not try and do the same? We went in
through what we thought was the front entrance, near the casino, and
walked up to the nearest hotel worker. I asked him if he could tell
us whether Johnny was staying there or not, never expecting to get a
reply. He hesitated a little and then said he wasn't sure. We
explained again what we were doing on the IOM and the next thing we
knew he told us to follow him and he would try to find out! He told
us he knew Johnny WAS staying there earlier in the week, but didn't
know if he was still a guest. He went up to a more senior member of
staff and, well, you should've seen the look on this guys face when
he found out the younger guy was trying to help us! He looked
furious! He said something like "You REALLY have to learn what to
say!" and just glared at him. The younger guy was then made to
follow the older guy for a severe telling off. Ooops we never meant
to get him into trouble.
Now we took all that as a yes, Johnny was staying there, so we sat
ourselves out on the bench by the main entrance (which is actually
around the back by the car park). There we waited for a good 4/5
hours. A couple of us left for a few minutes to go buy some fish and
chips but that was it. We sat and waited. I couldn't help imagining
speaking to Johnny... this was so exciting!
In the end our wait turned out to be a waste of time. Jo and Melina
went inside and asked a lady on reception if she could help us.
Amazingly she did and I think they tried every name they could think
of for Johnny, including Oprah Noodlemantra(?). She risked her job
to help us out but no luck. We decided to call it a day & walked
back to the car. All we could do now was pray for the best the next
day. We had a quick look around the town, calling in a few other 5
star hotels just on the off chance and then drove back to the B&B. I
knew there wasn't much chance of any of us getting any sleep that night.
The alarm went off. I looked at the clock - 3am the next morning.
SATURDAY. This was it - our best chance of meeting Johnny! If I'd
known what was going to happen exactly that morning I would've spent
longer in front of the mirror lolol but hey, I wasn't holding out
much hope. I worry a lot anyway and was determined not to get my
hopes up too high in case we didn't find him.
We drove up to the studio driveway and looked to see if anyone was
around. As desperate as we were to meet Johnny we weren't going to
do anything that could get us into serious trouble. At least not on
the first day ;) Warren, the security guy from the day before, had
told us he'd be there from 6am. There was no sign of him yet (not
surprising as it was only 4-ish!) but there were lights on inside
and a red van was parked just inside, blocking the driveway. As we
drove past it moved to let us through. Like I said, we didn't want
to get ourselves into trouble so didn't go through. Instead we drove
a little way up the road and parked in the lay-by. It was still
pitch black everywhere - we had to be mad! From there it was quite
easy to see any traffic that turned in to the studios and no one
could tell us to move. We stayed there for about 1 ?-2 hrs while
some of us tried to catch up on a little sleep. I was too scared by
now so tried to stay awake, watching the odd car that drove nearby.
Slowly it began the get lighter. It was time to go take a look.
The guy in the van was the night security guard. I forget his name
right now. He had to sit there from around 6 until 6 until Warren
took over. I think he had the worse job, sitting there throughout
the night with nothing going on. At least Warren had the 2-way radio
etc and it seemed a lot more interesting throughout the day. Melina
asked if it was possible to give the wine to someone in the
production office to pass on to Johnny if we weren't lucky. He told
her we could try.. and then suggested we wrote a letter addressed to
Johnny ourselves. So that's what we did over the next ? hour, we sat
and wrote Johnny a letter J It wasn't used in the end but we had it
just in case.
Anyway: we said hi to Warren once he arrived (I think he found us
amusing and you could tell he thought we were a little `nuts'). "We
told you we'd be back!" one of us said, and then showed him our
banner etc. I'd done a big yellow banner saying "We're your no.1
fans Johnny, please talk to us!
" to try get his attention as he drove through. Instead of holding it I got out the selotape from my
bag and we taped it to the brick post lolol. He had no problem with
as doing this and the next thing we knew he was even getting one of
the catering people to bring us breakfast! Bacon & sausage rolls.
Yum! If there's one thing we noticed about people on the Isle of Man
it's how friendly they are! We stood there chatting for a while,
still amazed that no other fans were around. So much for my idea of
getting there for 4am to get a good spot hahaha. This wasn't exactly London!
We asked a lot of questions - What time Johnny might be arriving,
how difficult was it to get a job in the production office, which
films were next going to be made there etc etc. He answered
everything and was probably glad to have some company for once. We
checked it was ok to leave the car down the road, which it was, and
then more waiting.. It was kind of frosty on the grass and although
the sky was now bright blue with just a few wispy clouds it was
still quite chilly. I had my Pirates t-shirt over my jumper but then
after thinking about it for a few minutes decided that if we were
lucky enough to get photos with Johnny I really didn't want to be
wearing that lol, so I put it next to the banner. It was something
else that would get his attention ;)
Warren had a call-sheet with the names of all the extras on. As they
arrived he checked them all off. One man was told he had to go speak
to the talent agency as he couldn't be let through (we found out
afterwards he'd been found looking through the makeup trailer the
day of his fitting so there was no way he'd be allowed back in!). We
stood there, pens, clipboards, cameras etc all ready. None of us
could believe we were STILL the only people around. It got to about
8am so it's not like it was THAT early. Didn't anyone around here
know Johnny was on the island?! Unbelievable. Because we'd seen a
few girls the day before I just assumed they'd be there in the
morning too, but they weren't. Of course we weren't complaining but
there was something very odd about it all.
We were told Johnny should be arriving any time between 8 and 9am.
OMG that wasn't far away!! I reached for my hairbrush again lol. Not
that it did much good because there was a breeze that day. Oh well.
We were shivering and shaking with nerves. Everything was ready we
just had to wait. Of course that's easier said than done when Johnny
Depp's concerned! By this time we'd convinced ourselves Johnny
wouldn't stop on the way in to work, but I told myself there was a
good chance he'd stop if he saw we were still standing there by the
end of the day. He had to take pity on us didn't he?! Most of the
extras had arrived by now. There were about 250 that day apparently,
and it was so funny because every time a car went past they all read
our banner and you should've seen their reactions! It ranged
from "Awww!" and smiles to one man shouting "I've seen him close up -
he looks like a girl!" hahaha.
Oh I forgot one thing - while we were waiting he only let us read a
copy of the script! He had 2 versions. There was an earlier one that
had a different working title, as well as the finished script. He
said he was working on getting one of them signed by the cast and
then he'd put it up for auction on eBay. We read the 2nd one. He
pointed out a few chapters. WOW we were reading Johnny's lines! One
thing's for sure this was going to be an 18 certificate! None of
the `Pirates' teenybopper fans would be getting in to see this any
time soon. I read a few paragraphs, skipped a bit then read some
more. But I was still far too nervous to do much reading and wanted
to be ready for when Johnny's car went past, so I went and stood
nearer the post, making sure none of us were covering up the banner.
We saw some of the other cast members drive through. He pointed out
Samantha Morton's car etc and the cars that were crew. Then Johnny
Vegas drove through. I hadn't thought of it before but our banner
could've been talking to him haha. He started waving madly in the
car. He knew we were really waiting for the OTHER Johnny but was
just making a joke of it. Warren then spoke to him or his driver
quickly and then told us he'd stop for autographs later. Stopping
Johnny Vegas' car was one thing, but Johnny's! We already knew that
would be completely different. For a start `our' Johnny's car was
the only Audi, and also the only one with blacked-out windows. We'd
already been told that Warren couldn't stop it as it went through.
More and more people were stopping and slowing down to read the
banner. I was so proud lolol. One oldish looking guy completely
stopped the car while he read the banner. I was thinking "Come on!
Hurry up and drive through" then we were told this was the director!
How great is that?!
The next thing I know it's about 8:30 and a silver Audi drives
around the corner!! OMG!! This was it!! And nooooooooo!! It wasn't
going to stop!! I wasn't ready for this at all. I'd been standing
there with one of my cameras but my `stuff' was back on the post!
Agh!! I panicked, trying to decide which was more important - should
I run to the car quickly to try and get a photo or run to get my
stuff and risk missing Johnny?! After a few seconds I decided to run
to the car. It'd stopped!!! Melina was first off the mark; she'd
been saying, "This is it!" every time she saw what looked like an
Audi lol and this time it really was it! She ran over, popped her
head in the window and said something about having travelled all the
way from Belgium etc. Johnny was sitting in the back of the car on
the left. Lisa was second to the car and then it was Jo and I. I was
shaking like mad and must've looked so crazy. I looked in through
the open window, past the guy sitting next to Johnny (who was
wearing a cowboy hat and as it turns out is JD's personal make-up
assistant), and there he was!!! Johnny Depp!! He had a dark
blue/greyish hat on which was sort of flopped over his head, to one
side. Also those glasses he's been wearing all the time, that pale
pinkish floaty shirt, Khaki coloured shirt and a new-looking crиme
jacket. His shoes were sandy coloured. We all thought he looked very stylish ;)
The first thing I noticed is he had his mouth open slightly. He was
probably a bit taken aback by all of us lolol. Now I NEVER expected
him to get out of the car. I was still in shock that it had even
stopped! We think he saw our banner and I had to smile to myself
when I remembered what everyone had been telling us about it being a
waste of time, the car would go straight past etc. We were all
prepared to jump in front of the car too lol. Anyway back to Johnny -
I heard him say "Sure, sure" after Melina asked if he'd mind just
having a few photo's taken and signing some autographs for us. That
was it - as soon as I heard him agree I turned around to the body
guard, who'd already gotten out of the car, and just managed to get
out "Can I get my stuff??!" I can't remember what he said exactly
but he said yes. I don't think I've ever run so fast in my life
haha. I picked everything up and ran straight back to the car as
fast as I could.
"Johnny? Johnny?" I was expecting to maybe be lucky in getting him
to sign my pic in the car, and then pass it out, but I couldn't see
him anywhere!
"He's out of the car," the bodyguard behind me said. LOLOL I really
was completely gone by then so hadn't even noticed he was standing
outside by the car! Actually I know I make it sound like I went
totally crazy but we all managed to stay fairly calm really, all
things considering.
I walked a few steps over towards Johnny and the others, just
watching him. WOW. Now I'd been waiting over 4 years to meet Johnny.
Not as long as some, but still a looong time. I've collected so many
things on the guy I have no room for anything else anymore lol and
her he was, in front of my eyes!! I've been lucky enough to meet
other `famous' people before (I even told Orlando Bloom to say hi to
Johnny for me last Nov ;>), but this was a completely different
experience altogether. Johnny's in a league of his own as far as I'm
concerned & it was such a dream come true to be able to speak to him
in person, because I really had lost hope in ever meeting him.
Johnny had said hi to Melina, Lisa and Jo. He shook hands with
Melina and Lisa, then Jo went straight for a hug lol :> Melina gave
him the wine and he thanked her in FRENCH(!). She doesn't know what
he said after "Merci Beaucoup" though lol. I was still in shock. I
said hi and then asked if he'd mind signing my picture for me. He
said " Yeah sure" (he said that a lot). I think he signed Melina's
Studio magazine first and then my calendar picture. Before he had a
chance to ask my name I was like "To Natalie. N A T A L I E" lol. He
got to NAT then paused and said "A?" I said yes, and then spelled
out the rest again. Now it's from here that the whole thing goes
blurry really. It was just so much to take in! I watched him write
my autograph. NATALIE = (I loved how he did an"=" after all our
names lol) MY BEST WISHES ALWAYS JOHNNY DEPP. This was too good to
be true!! And then I saw the tattoo! The 3 squares on his finger.
That is when you realise Johnny Depp is in front of you lol, after
having seen that so many times in photographs then suddenly there it was.
I was fascinated by his hands. Part of that was probably due to the
fact that I'd read an old interview with him recently where they
mentioned how tiny his hands are etc. They were. And very thin. We
didn't exactly expect Johnny to be big so we weren't surprised at
how slight he was, but he's actually taller than I was expecting.
I'm 5 ft 8 ? and I was convinced he'd be shorter. Made sure I had
flat shoes on and everything ;)
He signed the personalised autograph for me, and also signed one
each for Jo & Lisa (asking Jo if it was "Jo with an e?" :>). Melina
got five in total - her personalised `Studio' magazine and also four
postcards. I remember him saying "You just want me to sign my name?"
And he was very good - he signed them all. I was standing there,
still watching the hands, then I heard my sister Mel's voice in my
head. She became a JD fan the same time as me and would've loved to
have come along with us, but seeing as she was due to give birth any
day that wasn't possible. I reached inside my clipboard and then
asked Johnny if he'd mind "Signing an autograph for my twin sister
Melanie, who couldn't make it here but loves you just as much as I
do" OMG what was I coming out with?? haha. Halfway through the
sentence I realised how it sounded but by then I had to finish it.
He didn't mind at all and I spelled out her name for him. `MELANIE =
GOOD WISHES ALWAYS - JOHNNY DEPP' Mel was going to be over the
moon! :> Looking back now part of me wishes I asked for more
autographs because I had lots of photos on me, but then I would've
felt guilty so it's probably a good thing I didn't. One thing's for
sure he wouldn't have minded if I had!
I can't remember everything that was said (as soon as it was over
I'd forgotten) but what he did next was just the nicest thing
ever :> I asked if I could have my picture taken with him, and after
he agreed Lisa used my camera to take the photo. Then.. and this is
what I still can't get over.. he asked if we wanted to take it
again "because of the sun?" ?!! Can you believe that?? I was in
shock (again) and once I realised what he'd said, moved with him to
the left, turning to face the other direction. Johnny was so
considerate, thinking the photo might not have turned out right. As
it happens that one turned out better than some of the others
because once he'd moved his hat cast a shadow over his eyes, but he
meant well :> He put his arm around me first and then I put my arm
under his. This is where I was REALLY shaking!! He then moved his
hand up and down a bit and I think I was about to collapse. He was
probably trying to stop me from shaking but it just ended up as me
looking like I'm pulling a funny face in the photograph lol. Even my
mouth was shaking.
I looked into the camera, just wishing I could stay like this
forever. Then I remembered what my other sister had said about a few
of my other photos. I do tend to look a little `manic' standing next
to whoever, grinning. So this time I just smiled, trying to look
calm and relaxed. After all, this was the most important photo I'd
ever had taken in my life! Of course I failed but never mind ;) The
fact that when I got up at 3am I'd realised I hadn't packed my
toothbrush (!!!) might've also had something to do with it hahaha.
You've got to laugh at that - the one day I meet my idol I hadn't
brushed my teeth!
I thanked Johnny; "Thank you so much Johnny." "You don't know how
much this means to us" I was grinning from ear to ear. He might've
said "My pleasure" but I'm not sure. He was happy to see us all so
pleased and after I'd said that he only went and did the `Jack Bow'
to me!! [in `Pirates' after `sailing' into Port Royal and talking to
the guy about tying up his boat, he puts his hands together and does
a little bow, if that makes sense]. Well I couldn't believe what he
was doing! And of course that made me study his hands again (I
really did spend too long looking at them and not enough time
looking at his face).
It was around this time that I kissed Johnny's face. To be honest I
still can't believe I did that and maybe someone went before me
because I would never have the nerve to do that, but I did. As I
brought my head back away from his I remember looking at the few
bits of stubble in the hollow of his right cheek. I remember that
more clearly than anything, and what it felt like.
Next up it was Jo's turn for a photo. She leaned in so far next to
Johnny :>) I tried to take as many pics as possible, because a lot
of the time I don't take the greatest photos, so I was snapping away
as I walked back around. He even blended in with the fields behind
him lolol. Melina went next and then Lisa. Johnny had the same smile
on his face throughout : D He just seemed so at ease. And it's not
like he was rushing us or anything either. He looked at all the
cameras when having the photographs taken and seemed to be enjoying
himself. There was a definite presence around him and more than
anything I just remember thinking how calm he was with it all. I
took a picture lengthways of Johnny as Lisa was thanking him for the
photo. It wasn't until I got it developed that I saw how well it'd
turned out :> That is one of my favourites and it's not even of me
(though you can see my shadow on him ;) ). You can tell from looking
at his body language what a nice, friendly guy he is, and how
comfortable he seemed with us.
Sometime throughout the meeting (after I had the picture taken I
think, but the order of photos/signing autographs is a little
muddled in my head) Johnny asked Jo, Lisa and I where we were from.
Jo and Lisa replied London. I thought about saying Leighton Buzzard,
but seriously he would never know where that is? So I left it at
London. That was close enough. He replied "No, really?" as if in
genuine shock we had travelled so far just for him He was beginning
to realise just how much this meant to us lol. Melina mentioned
something about him being in Brussels just a few days before, near
where she came from, and he replied "Yes I was.." looking a bit
puzzled as if he was wondering how she knew about that lol.
I told him how long I'd wanted to meet him; "I've been waiting four
years for this". He replied with a "Wow" or something I think lol.
Really I was just saying everything that came in to my head - the
best example of this is when, after he asked where we were from and
I'd thanked him god knows how many times, I heard myself saying; "I
waited 14 hours outside the Baftas for you and didn't get your
autograph" How rude does that sound?! I didn't mean it. He had his
head down slightly at the time, signing some things for one of us I
think, and went "Oh sorry" I didn't mean to make him feel he needed
to apologise. Oh he must've known I was very grateful for everything
he did for us... I hope ;)
It must've been then when the bodyguard came over and commented on
my green calendar picture (the one I got signed for myself - Dec
2001). "Oh that's a nice picture." He took a closer look. I didn't
put it down on Johnny's car so he must've taken it for a minute.
Lisa, lol, replied "Yes it is isn't it" and then Johnny, smiling,
looked at it again and did one of his little laughs. It was almost
as if he was amused, embarrassed and also thinking back to when it
was taken or something. We loved that. The bodyguard told me to make
sure I didn't lose it. Like I'm going to be doing that any time soon!
The bodyguard was quite good that day actually. He didn't stay stuck
to Johnny's side at all, and instead let us have our time with
Johnny. I recognised the bodyguard straight away though from things
in London and he's not always like that so we were very lucky.
After we had our photos taken with Johnny we just kept thanking him
again and again. He did another `Jack Bow'! By that time I was
standing furthest to the left, near Johnny. He took a few steps
forward and HUGED ME! I must've looked very funny because I wasn't
expecting that at all. I'd missed him hugging Jo earlier so hadn't
even thought about getting a hug from Johnny Depp. That's probably a
good thing too because if I'd been expecting it I don't think I
would've still been standing. He put his arms out and as soon as I
realised what he was doing of course I hugged him back. As hard as I
could without hurting him lol. He smelled of some kind of
aftershave.. not smoke (though we had been told he'd been smoking
quite a bit on the set). Johnny went along the line, giving us all a
kiss on the cheek too. Unbelievable. He thanked us all for coming
again and then I just blurted out "Do you like our banner?",
pointing to the post. Johnny turned and studied it, and said he did.
He had the cutest smile on his face.
It was nearly time to say goodbye! Before he went I asked if I could
just get a picture of him looking at the camera (yes, I felt like
someone from the paparazzi or something). He didn't mind at all and
stopped, turned to the camera and smiled his little side smile :>
Lisa asked if she could also get a photo and he was happy to do that
too. What a lovely guy!! He smiled at us all again, thanked us
(believe me - we were all thanking him too!) and then walked away.
Lisa and Jo went over to near our banner and I think there was a lot
of jumping around going on ;) I turned towards them, grinning (I
stayed like that for the rest of the day too) and then turned around
just in time to get this wonderful picture of Johnny getting in to
the car :> He looks so happy!! We like to think we made his day :>
And so that's the full story on us meeting Mr Johnny Depp! We had
the best time ever. The first thing we did after getting back to the
b&b was go find somewhere that develops photos. We went and bought
another copy of the Pirates soundtrack too :> We all owned a copy
already of course but hadn't bought any of them with us. You
should've heard the singing along hahaha..
That evening was amazing too. We went for a meal at the Hilton (okay
so it was at the carvery, but still at the Hilton ;)). Then we went
to a club nearby and after we'd been there a while Jo said how it'd
be great if they played `I'm gonna be (500 miles) (from Benny &
Joon). Then what should come on 10 minutes later??!! Yes! That song!
I was kind of surprised by that but hey not complaining :> We had to
get up and dance to that. They also managed to play the Secret
Window trailer a total of about 6 times on the TV screens! There was
no sound but good enough to get us all excited lol. I have no idea
what the people nearby would've thought ;)
The Monday morning before we left we called back in to the photo
place and spent over ?100 in total on enlargements etc!! Then when
me, Lisa and Jo were on the plane home we all had a favourite
photograph, so all three of us sat there with them on the little
flap-down tray `things' staring at them all the way home! Hehehe
both air stewardesses' smiled as they walked past. They knew who he
was. And anyway we spent the whole flight home talking about him enough :>
It was sad to be leaving but such an amazing experience. We'd done
more than we could've ever hoped for. It didn't matter that we
hadn't actually seen any of the Isle of Man itself lol that wasn't
our reason for going. Everything had just worked out so well in the
end. Thank you Johnny!

Like I said, we have pictures from inside, of the set, but none of
us are planning on getting sued any time soon lol so we have to wait
to put them up on the net. We promised Warren (the security guy)
we'd wait until filming had wrapped.
The day after we went back to give Warren a present for helping us
out so much an he gave us a John Malkovich autograph, which I've
scanned in here:
How nice is that? He had two. We didn't meet John Malkovich but have
it on very good authority that he was also very pleasant and friendly.
Warren told us that everyone had been talking about us on set :> We were famous!
We also spoke briefly to Johnny's close friend (and Godfather to LR
& Jack!) `Bill'. I asked him who he was and he replied "Oh I've
known Johnny for years. I go everywhere with him. I'm also Godfather
to his kids." He seemed a nice guy too. Warren had spoken to him too
and apparently he also lives with Johnny and Vanessa in France. One
other thing we didn't notice is the hat Bill was wearing - Warren
had thought it was a POTC hat but in fact it has the name of a
Caribbean island on it. One that Johnny has bought!! I can't
remember the name though, sorry, so that's not very helpful.
Anyway... I hope you all liked our story!! Johnny is just amazing.
But one thing's for sure, once you meet him it just makes you even
more besotted (I prefer that word to `obsessed' lol). We're all like
it. I wonder if he knows what he's done to us. :>
